A JOINT RESOLUTION AND PROCLAMATION HONORING AND RECOGNIZING KYLEE TIBBS, GAHANNA LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL'S FIRST-EVER OHSAA STATE WRESTLING CHAMPION
BODY

WHEREAS, on March 9, 2025, Gahanna Lincoln High School (GLHS) sophomore KyLee Tibbs competed in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Wrestling Championship at the Jerome Schottenstein Center at The Ohio State University, where she achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the first-ever OHSAA State Wrestling Champion in GLHS history, having also placed second at the OHSAA State Tournament as a freshman; and

WHEREAS, as a sophomore, KyLee Tibbs completed the 2024-2025 wrestling season with a flawless record of 47-0, demonstrating exceptional skill and determination, leading her team in both Pins, with 40, and Takedowns, with 68, and also winning the Central Regional Wrestling Championship in Louisville, Kentucky, on May 17, 2025, qualifying to represent Team Ohio at the USA Wrestling Junior and 16U National Championship in Fargo, North Dakota, this July; and

WHEREAS, KyLee's contributions were instrumental in guiding the GLHS girls' wrestling team to seven top-three finishes in tournaments, including securing the Team Championship at the Columbia Lady Raiders tournament, further solidifying the program's rising prominence; and

WHEREAS, KyLee has continued to develop her skills on the international stage, having trained in France, Germany, and Switzerland during the summer of 2024, and having most recently been invited to the USA-OHIO Japan Tour June 17-28, 2025, where she will train in Tokyo, Hiroshima, and at the Tosu Technical High School in Fukuoka, Japan; and

WHEREAS, KyLee's excellence extends beyond the wrestling mat, as she is also one of eight young women on the team to earn Academic Honors for maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher, reflecting her commitment to both athletic and academic achievement; and
