TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH J.D. EQUIPMENT, INC., FOR AN 11' 1600 MOWER FOR THE PARKS DEPARTMENT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Parks Department is in great need of an 11' 1600 Mower; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended that we proceed with J.D. Equipment; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this due to the impending mowing season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Purchase Agreement with J.D. EQUIPMENT, INC., 1660 US Rt. 42 NE, London, Ohio 43140, for an 11' 1600 Mower for the Parks Department; said purchase to be made off State Contract #777515E.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of THIRTY SEVEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY NINE DOLLARS ($37,189) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account No. 101.431.5515, Parks Capital Projects/Equipment, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
