Title

TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH STILLION BROTHERS EXCAVATING FOR THE 2000 JOHNSTOWN ROAD STORM SEWER, IMPROVEMENT NO. 730; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

Body

 

WHEREAS, bids were opened February 11, 2000, and the most responsive, responsible, and best bidder has been recommended by the Director of Public Service and City Engineer; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable and necessary to do this work at the earliest possible date in order that residents are able to enjoy quality of life with adequate storm water control, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with STILLION BROTHERS EXCAVATING, 4021 COLE ROAD, PERRYSBURG, OHIO 44864, for the 2000 JOHNSTOWN ROAD STORM SEWER, Improvement No. 730, in accordance with Bid and City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding was set aside in the Year 2000 Appropriated to Account No. 230.350.5598, Storm Sewer Repair, in the amount of $98,000 to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That Ordinance No. 990001, passed January 2, 1999, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
