TO AUTHORIZE THE ACCRUAL OF UNUSED VACATION TIME IN EXCESS OF THAT ALLOWED BY ORD-0008-2003 FOR THE CLERK OF COUNCIL

WHEREAS, ORD-0008-2003, passed February 3, 2003, for unclassified personnel allows for vacation accrual of 240 hours for unclassified employees; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk of Council will have in excess of the maximum allowable carryover without taking 7 days of vacation prior to the end of the year; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk of Council will make every attempt to take sufficient vacation to remain under the 240 hour allowable carryover before year end;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That it is recognized by this Council that Isobel Sherwood has exhibited responsibility in fulfilling all duties that are associated with the position of Clerk of Council, and is entitled to the vacation time earned.
Section 2. That this Council authorizes the carryover of more than 240 hours of vacation time for Clerk of Council Isobel L. Sherwood understanding that every attempt will be made to remain under the 240 hour limit.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
