TO EXTEND THE POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT FOR A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS; TO AMEND ORD-0243-2001

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Administration and this Council to extend the position of Director of Emergency Management created by ORD-0254-2000 and extended by ORD-0234-2001 for two additional years, with the mutual understanding that this position is a temporary position for a limited time frame; and
WHEREAS, the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position include an update of all our emergency planning; and
WHEREAS, this position currently expires on December 31, 2003;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the part-time, temporary position of Director of Emergency Management, created by ORD-0254-2000 and extended by ORD-0243-2001, is hereby extended for a period of two years and will expire on December 31, 2005.
Section 2. That compensation shall be provided in the 2004 appropriations at $36,400 per year with the understanding that the hours may vary on a weekly basis but are not to exceed 1040 hours per year, and with any changes in compensation to be approved by ordinance of Council.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
