TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH STOOPS FREIGHTLINER DAYTON, FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) 2 ½ TON DUMP TRUCKS WITH SNOW PACKAGES; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City is in need of two (2) new dump trucks to be equipped with snow package, and the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with Stoops Freightliner Dayton for the purchase as permitted by Section 125.04C of the Ohio Revised Code; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to adopt this Ordinance at the earliest possible time as Stoops Freightliner will be increasing their price by 2% in June, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a Purchase Agreement with STOOPS FREIGHTLINER DAYTON, 7800 Center Point 70 Blvd., Dayton, Ohio 45424, for the purchase of two (2) 2½ ton dump trucks with snow packages, as permitted by Section 125.04C of the Ohio Revised Code for a price of $307,004.
Section 2. That funding in the 2014 Appropriations and funds carried over from 2013 as part of the Equipment Replacement Program are sufficient for the purchase and a supplemental appropriation is not necessary.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect upon passage by this Council and the signature of approval by the Mayor.
