ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH iVIDEO TECHNOLOGIES, FOR THE UPGRADE OF THE AUDIO/VIDEO SYSTEM IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS; WAIVING SECOND READING AND DECLARING IT AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, in preparation for resuming the use of Council Chambers post-COVID restriction, the Administration has obtained a scope of work from State Term Schedule Vendor iVideo Technologies to upgrade the audio/video capabilities; and,
WHEREAS, by combining the installation of the camera system with the upgrade of the projection system, the City will realize a 20% reduction in project cost; and,
WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this Ordinance for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with iVideo Technologies, 659C Lakeview Plaza Blvd, Worthington, Ohio, for the purchase and implementation of the audio/video upgrade to Council Chambers as outlined in the attached EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That to fund the purchase in Section 1, an amount of ninety four thousand seven hundred forty eight dollars and nine cents ($94,748.09) has been appropriated from the CARES Act Fund.
Section 3. That pursuant to Gahanna City Code Section 135.05(e)(4) competitive bidding is hereby suspended.
Section 4. The second reading is hereby waived.
Section 5. That, for the reason set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
