TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH BUCKEYE CEMENT CONTRACTORS FOR SIDEWALK INSTALLATION ON HAMILTON ROAD, IMPROVEMENT NO. 878; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $19,000; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the interim widening to provide turn lanes for Hamilton/Clark State and Hamilton/Worman removed the walkable shoulder on the west side of Hamilton Road and it is the desire of the City to install a asidewalk along the east side of Hamilton Road; and
WHEREAS, the City has received a quote from Buckeye Cement and the City Engineer is recommending that we move forward with the project all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Buckeye Cement Contractors, 4969 Big Run South Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123, for sidewalk installation on Hamilton Road, Improvement No. 878.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of NINETEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($19,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5541, Streets.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2006, passed January 2, 2006, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, in accordance with the preamble herinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
