SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION - General Fund appropriations

WHEREAS, the Administration has been monitoring the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the City’s finances; and
WHEREAS, the loss of revenue due to COVID-19 pandemic is, at this time, is estimated to be $3.2 million for the General Fund and $379,000 for the Parks & Recreation Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City recently received money from the state from the CARES Act in the amount of $1.1million which will need to be appropriated for disbursement; and
WHEREAS, the Administration is requesting a reduction to appropriations for the General Fund in the amount of $4.5million and for the Parks & Recreation Fund in the amount of $695,000 in anticipation of lost revenue due to COVID-19.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That an amount of four million five hundred sixteen thousand three hundred eighty three dollars and zero cents ($4,516,383.00) be and is hereby unappropriated from the General Fund (1010) accounts listed in Exhibit A.
Section 2. That an amount of six hundred ninety five thousand six hundred fifty four dollars and zero cents ($695,654.00) be and is hereby unappropriated from the Parks & Recreation Fund (2420) accounts listed in Exhibit A.
Section 3. That an amount of one million one hundred thousand dollars and zero cents ($1,100,000.00) be and is hereby appropriated from the CARES Act Fund (2300).
Section 4. That the second reading is hereby waived.
Section 5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
