TO AMEND ORD-0287-2000, WHICH PROVIDED RATES OF PAY AND BENEFITS FOR UNCLASSIFIED PERSONNEL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2001, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2001, TO PROVIDE FOR THE HIRING OF THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE AT MORE THAN THE BOTTOM OF THE RANGE.

WHEREAS, the City recently re-established the position of Deputy Director of Public Service as an unclassified position; and
WHEREAS, ORD-0287-2000, passed December 18, 2000, and amended, provides for compensation and benefits for the unclassified personnel of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor proposed that the person promoted to this position be hired at more than the bottom of the range;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Article II, Pay Ranges, of ORD-0287-2000, passed December 18, 2000, is hereby amended as shown in EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That existing Article II, Pay Ranges, of ORD-0287-2000 is repealed as of the effective date of this ordinance.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
