TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND MAYOR TO ENTER INTO LEASE AGREEMENT WITH PITNEY BOWES FOR A NEW PARAGON MAIL MACHINE

WHEREAS, the lease on our current mail machine will expire at the end of this year and shoudl be replaced for newer technology; and
WHEREAS, the Paragon mail machine is available on the State bid list, contract number STS-49 779049A; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has researched and recommends the Paragon mail machine for our needs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to purchase from the State Bid List, and the Mayor is authorized to enter into lease agreement with PITNEY BOWES, 2323 Westbrooke Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43228-9531, for a Paragon mail Machine, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That lease amount of $482.75 per month for the machine and $91 per month for meter rental shall be appropriated in the 2002 appropriations, and should be included in future appropriations over the term of the lease, to account number 101.141.5511, Lands and Buildings, Capital, to cover the costs.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature approval by the Mayor.
