WHEREAS, a proposal has been received to address the design and engineering for a demolition plan and tank removal plan for the Science Boulevard fuel site; and
 
WHEREAS, proposal for the engineering design has been submitted by Advanced Civil Design and the Director of Public Service and City Engineer have recommended we proceed with them; and
 
WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this design work as quickly as possible to allow for this phase of the street construction project in a timely fashion, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with ADVANCED CIVIL DESIGN, 422 Beecher Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for design and engineering for the demolition plan for the Science Boulevard fuel site; proposal attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
 
Section 2.  That funding in the amount of EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS ($8,000) was set aside in prior year funds to Account No. 101.516.5596, Capital Projects/Improvements, to cover the herein cost.
 
Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
