TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT FOR RENEWAL OF AT&T ILEC ISDN PRIME SERVICE WITH DS1 SERVICE, TELEPHONE SERVICE AGREEMENT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City's current contract for the maintenance and service of our phone system and DS1 has expired; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Technology has recommended that we proceed with AT&T ILEC ISDN Prime Service with DS1 Service by renewing our contract for a three year period; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this ordinance as soon as possible as our current contract has expired, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with AT&T CORP., One AT&T Way, Bedminster, NJ 07921-0752, for AT&T ILEC ISDN Prime Service with DS1 Service, to renew telephone service contract for the City telephone system and DS1 service for a period of three (3) years; Contract attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of ELEVEN THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FORTY DOLLARS ($11,640) ($970 a month), was set aside in the 2014 Appropriations in Account No. 101.348.5484, Utilities, Telephone, to cover the herein cost.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
