RESOLUTION TO HONOR AND COMMEND THE GAHANNA LINCOLN BOYS SOCCER TEAM

WHEREAS, THE GAHANNA LINCOLN BOYS SOCCER TEAM had a tremendous season making it to the District Championship for the second time in three years; and
WHEREAS, THE GAHANNA LINCOLN BOYS SOCCER TEAM has amassed 34 victories; and
WHEREAS, accomplishments for the season for THE GAHANNA LINCOLN BOYS SOCCER TEAM included a Sectional Championship, District Runner-Up Championship, and Number 7 ranking in Central Ohio; and
WHEREAS, The Columbus Crew has invited THE GAHANNA LINCOLN BOYS SOCCER TEAM to open a Crew game on August 30, 2003 in Crew Stadium as part of their “Elite Games” series;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council and Administration recognizes THE GAHANNA LINCOLN BOYS SOCCER TEAM for a tremendous season.
Section 2. That THE GAHANNA LINCOLN BOYS SOCCER TEAM have shown how an exemplary commitment to practice, team, play, and cooperation with others can lead to success.
Section 3. That the Council and Administration also recognizes and appreciates the support, time, and effort that the coaches, school officials, and parents have put forth to assist these youngsters in their pursuit of both fun and excellence.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council.
