Title

TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH AMERICAN MUNICIPAL POWER, INC. (AMPO) TO PROVIDE CONTINUING SERVICES AS THE CITY'S ELECTRIC AGGREGATION CONSULTANT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

 

Body

WHEREAS, it has been recommended by the Department of Public Service that we enter into agreement with American Municipal Power, Inc., (AMPO) for continuing services as the City's Electric Aggregation Consultant; and

 

WHEREAS, AMPO, Inc.  has submitted their proposal for this continuing service; and

 

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to move forward as quickly as possible in order to begin to implement the electric aggregation program, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with AMERICAN MUNICIPAL POWER, INC., 2600 Airport Drive, Columbus, OH 43219 for continuing services as the City's Electric Aggregation Consultant, said agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That no funding is necessary for this contract as compensation shall be paid by the Competitive Retail Electric Services (CRES) provider as specified in the contract.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
