TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR STREET LIGHT MAINTENANCE.

WHEREAS, bids were opened on September 30, 2008, pursuant to Council authorization, and the best, most responsive, and responsible bidder has been recommended by the Director of Public Service; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to proceed with this purchase at the earliest possible date;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is authorized to award and the Mayor authorized to enter into contract with JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY, 6630 Taylor Road, Blacklick, Ohio 43004, for street light maintenance in accordance with bid and City specifications, said bid tabulation attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding will be set aside in the 2009 Appropriations, and should be included in future appropriations over the term of the contract, to Account No. 224.211.5214, Street Lights, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
