WHEREAS, CAROLYN AYOTTE, NIKKI EDWARDS, ANGELA MCINTYRE, STEFANIE WEAVER and RAINE ZEHNER all members of Girl Scout Troop 394, needed a project to work on to achieve their Gold Awards; and

 

WHEREAS, CAROLYN, NIKKI, ANGELA, STEFANIE AND RAINE approached the Department of Parks & Recreation in the winter of 2002 in hopes of creating an event specifically for teens by teens as their project for their Gold Awards; and

 

WHEREAS, the end result was the 2002 "Under the Board Walk TeenFest", which highlighted the musical and artistic talent of Gahanna area teens; and

 

WHEREAS, the first event was a great success and CAROLYN, NIKKI, ANGELA, STEFANIE and RAINE organized every aspect of the event including budget, marketing, logistics, entertainment, food, sponsors and vendors, and organized 20 people to implement the days program; and

 

WHEREAS, the event was so successful that it was carried on by the girls scout leader, Tina Edwards in 2003; and

 

WHEREAS, CAROLYN, NIKKI, ANGELA, STEFANIE and RAINE all serve as an exemplary standard for the youth of our community;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That City Council, along with the citizens of Gahanna, hereby congratulate, honor and commend CAROLYN AYOTTE, NIKKI EDWARDS, ANGELA MCINTYRE, STEFANIE WEAVER and RAINE ZEHNER for their outstanding leadership and contribution to the City of Gahanna and it's teens and obtaining their Girl Scout Gold Awards.

 

Section 2.  That this resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council.
