TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH WESTERMAN COMPANIES, TO INSTALL THE SCADA SYSTEM FOR THE PRESSURE REDUCING VALVE, HARRISON POND, FOR MONITORING OF THE SYSTEM, IMPROVEMENT NO. 804; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the pressure reducing valve has been installed at Harrison Pond, Imp. No. 804, and now it needs to be monitored by the SCADA system; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this ordinance so the system can be monitored, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with Westerman Companies, 245 North Broad Street, Bremen, Ohio 43107, for installation of the SCADA system for monitoring of the pressure reducing valve, Harrison Pond, Imp. No. 804, in accordance with proposal attached as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of Fifteen Thousand Three Hundred Seventy Five Dollars ($15,375) was aside in the 2002 Appropriations to Account No. 651.350.5512, Capital Projects Equipment, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and will be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
