TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION  OF AN AUDIBLE PEDESTRIAN CROSSING SIGNAL FOR THE CORNER OF AGLER AND IMPERIAL ROADS;  TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $3,800; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, residents in the area of Agler and Imperial Roads have requested that an audible pedestrian crossing signal be installed for the visually impaired in the area; and

 

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City to meet the needs of the residents in this area in a timely fashion, all for the preservation of the public pease, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY, 6630 Taylor Road, Blacklick, Ohio 43004, for purchase and installation of an audible pedestrian crossing signal at Agler and Imperial Roads for the visually impaired; in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of THREE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($3,800) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the Street Fund, to Account No. 220.330.5512, Street Fund, Capital, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2003, passed January 2, 2003, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation. 

 

Section 4.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council, and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
