TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH RESEARCH WORKS FOR A FISCAL IMPACT ANALYSIS, COMMUNITY PROFILE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN

WHEREAS, there exists a need to identify the City's economic characteristics and establish priorities, policies, program tasks and activities for an economic development plan for the next twenty-five years; and
WHEREAS, Research Works was chosen by a steering committee to conduct this fiscal impact analysis; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the necessary funds were appropriated in the 2006 appropriations but a supplemental is needed for the balance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with RESEARCH WORKS, 7 Pickett Place, New Albany, OH 43054, for a fiscal impact analysis; in accordance with City specifications; scope of services attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of NINETY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($90,000) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account No. 101.343.5253, Development, Planning, to cover a portion of the herein costs.
Section 3. That SIXTY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($63,100) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.343.5253, Development, Planning, to cover the balance of the herein costs.
Section 4. That ORD-0001-2006 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
