TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH KROMER COMPANY, LLC, FOR THE PURCHASE OF A KROMER FIELD COMMANDER LINE STRIPER THROUGH THE STATE CONTRACT #GS-03F-0139V; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Parks & Recreation Department's current line striper used to provide lines to all athletic fields in Gahanna was purchased in 2005, is very unreliable and repair costs have escalated; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation has worked with the Service Department to obtain quotes for a new striper and has recommended we proceed to purchase a Kromer Field Commander line painter/striper; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to obtain this equipment as soon as possible because it is an integral part of summer recreation activities, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with KROMER COMPANY, LLC, 15020 27th Avenue North, Suite 200, Plymouth, Minnesota 55447, for purchase of a Kromer Field Commander line striper; from the State Contract #GS-03F-0139V; quote attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED THIRTEEN DOLLARS ($27,113) is available in Account No. 101.512.5515, General Fund Equipment, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
