TITLE
A JOINT RESOLUTION AND PROCLAMATION HONORING AND RECOGNIZING KYLEE TIBBS FOR HER BACK-TO-BACK OHSAA STATE WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS AND OUTSTANDING ATHLETIC AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS
BODY

WHEREAS, Gahanna Lincoln High School (GLHS) junior KyLee Tibbs competed in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Wrestling Championship held March 13-15, 2026, at the Jerome Schottenstein Center at The Ohio State University, where she captured her second consecutive OHSAA State Wrestling Championship title; and

WHEREAS, KyLee completed the 2025-2026 wrestling season with an outstanding 44-2 record, including nine victories over top-10 ranked wrestlers in the State of Ohio, while surrendering only 11 total points and three takedowns throughout the season; and

WHEREAS, KyLee helped lead the GLHS girls' wrestling team to a fifth-place finish at the OHSAA State Tournament, as well as four first-place tournament finishes and the program's first-ever Ohio Capital Conference (OCC) Championship with a perfect 5-0 conference season; and

WHEREAS, KyLee was recognized for her exceptional performance by being named both OCC Wrestler of the Year and Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Association (OHSWCA) Wrestler of the Year; and

WHEREAS, KyLee also excelled academically as one of eleven members of the GLHS girls' wrestling team to earn Academic Honors by maintaining a grade point average of 3.5 or higher; and

WHEREAS, KyLee continues to represent Gahanna Lincoln High School and the City of Gahanna through national and international wrestling competition opportunities, including upcoming training and competition in Italy before representing Team Ohio at the 2026 USA Wrestling Junior and 16U National Championship in Fargo, North Dakota.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT JOINTLY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL AND PROCLAIMED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
