TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT FOR PROMOTIONAL/MARKETING SERVICES WITH DEB PARKER; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $15,000; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

 

Body

WHEREAS, it has been recommended by the Development Director that we move forward with promotion and marketing of Creekside, Gahanna Holiday Lights!, and other City events; and

 

WHEREAS,  Deb Parker has submitted Scope of  Services for promotional/marketing consultation for Gahanna Events, Inc., to assist in the coordination of marketing events for Creekside, the 1999 Gahanna Holiday Lights!, and other City events beginning July 1, 1999 through January 1, 2000, and a supplemental is being requested in order to move forward; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable to enter into said contract at the earliest date possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with Deb Parker for promotional/marketing services in accordance with the Scope of  Services, attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A. 

 

Section 2.  That the sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the General Fund, to Account No. 101.343.5254, Development Promotion, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
