TITLE

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO AWARD AND ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH NEWCOMER CONCRETE SERVICES, INC FOR CONSTRUCTION WORK FOR THE 2021 SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

BODY

 

WHEREAS, the 2021 Sidewalk Maintenance Program consists of concrete sidewalk and curb ramp removal and replacement, sidewalk panel chamfer saw-cutting, and other related work; and

 

WHEREAS, on December 22, 2022, bids were opened and reviewed; and

 

WHEREAS, the lowest bidder, Professional Pavement, had an incomplete/non-responsive bid; and

 

WHEREAS, the Administration recommends awarding the bid to Newcomer Concrete Services, Inc., the second lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with a bid price of $551,400.35; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering is requesting a 10 percent contingency to cover any unforeseen construction costs, bringing the total amount to $607,640.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to award and enter into contract with NEWCOMER CONCRETE SERVICES INC, primary offices located at 646 TOWNLINE RD 151, NORWALK, OH 44857, for the 2021 Sidewalk Maintenance Program work (ST-1091), attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
