Title

TO AUTHORIZE THE ACTING DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH BUCKEYE PAVING CO. FOR THE FOXBORO POOL WALKWAYS, IMPROVEMENT NO. 698; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

Body

WHEREAS, commitment was made to take over certain area in the Foxboro area an to improve and develop walkways thereon; and

 

WHEREAS, bids were received on March 6, 1998, pursuant to Council authorization, and the best, responsible and  responsive bidder has been recommended by the City Engineer and Acting Director of Public Service; and

 

WHEREAS, due to the approaching summer season, it is necessary to proceed with this work for the orderly pedestrian traffic in this area, and for the preservation of the public peace,health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Acting Director of Public Service is authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with GIAM-TRE CORP., DBA BUCKEYE PAVING COMPANY, 3450 East 7th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43224-0610, for the Foxboro Walkway, Improvement No. 698, in accordance with bid submitted March 6, 1998, and in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of Twenty-nine Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty-four Dollars ($29,954) was set aside in the 1998 Appropriations to Account No. 101.145.5541, Streets, and Four Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Dollars ($4,320) from this account is reallocated and authorized for Improvement No. 698.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
