TO AMEND CONTRACT WITH HOCKADEN & ASSOCIATES, INC., TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $5,000 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the original contract with Hockaden & Associates was entered into by ORD-0198-2001; and
WHEREAS, this amendment for additional services for the Taylor Road at Eastgate project, Improvement #778 is to include utility easement negotiations, appraisal, and documents, as well as additional work due to modifications requested by the property owners; and
WHEREAS, the need to keep this project moving in a timely fashion is critical for the development of Eastgate, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amended contract with Hockaden and Associates, Inc., 883 N. Cassady Avenue, Columbus, OH 43219., for additional services for the Taylor Road Improvement Project, Improvement #778, said proposal attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($3,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.349.5821, Capital Projects, TIF.
Section 3. That TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the Water Fund to Account No. 651.350.5596, Capital Projects, Water.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is deemed emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
