TITLE

A RESOLUTION TO DECLARE THE NECESSITY AND INTENT FOR TAYLOR STATION/CLAYCRAFT RIGHT-OF-WAY ACQUISITION

BODY

 

WHEREAS, to improve safety and reduce congestion, the Taylor Station/Claycraft intersection is slated for reconstruction to transition from a signalized intersection to a modern-day roundabout; and

 

WHEREAS, in preparation of the improvements, the City will need to acquire right-of-way and temporary construction easements within the first quarter of 2023.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That this Council hereby declares the necessity and intent to acquire right-of-way and temporary construction easements for the Taylor Station/Claycraft intersection project; pursuant to and in accordance with the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna, the Charter of the City of Gahanna, and the Constitution of the State of Ohio, Chapter 719 and Chapter 163, Ohio Revised Code; said parcels more particularly described in EXHIBIT A and EXHIBIT B, attached hereto, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That the Mayor or their representative is hereby authorized and directed to cause a written notice of the adoption of this Resolution to be given to the owner(s), person(s), in possession of and person(s) having a real or possible interest of record in the premises, and said notice shall be served by the Mayor or their representative, who shall make return of said service of notice in the manner provided by law.

 

Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and upon signature of approval by the Mayor.
