TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., FOR INSPECTION SERVICES OF THE BIG WALNUT BRIDGE MODIFICATIONS, IMPROVEMENT NO. 728; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, modifications have been contracted for the Big Walnut Bridge, Improvement No. 728; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to effect inspection on this important work at the earliest possible date, all for the orderly work on this entrance way to our City, and for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., for inspection services for the Big Walnut Bridge Modifications, Improvement No. 728, in accordance with Bid and City specifications. That said Proposal Contract is attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding was set aside in the 1999 Appropriations to Account No. 101.343.5511, Capital Projects, Development, in the amount of $20,000, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That Ordinance No. 990001, passed January 2, 1999, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and immediately upon the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
