TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT WITH DR. PEPPER SNAPPLE BOTTLING GROUP FOR THE SALE OF CARBONATED AND NON-CARBONATED DRINKS AT PARKS AND RECREATION FACILITIES; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, letter quotes for contract beverage sales have been received and the Director of Parks and Recreation is recommending the lowest, most responsible and responsive quote to Council to proceed with; and
WHEREAS, this contract is for a 4 year period to be the exclusive provider of the aforementioned asset's carbonated and non-carbonated drinks for the purpose of resale; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with this Ordinance since the Gahanna Aquatics Facilities open May 25, 2014 for the season, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Sponsorship Agreement with DR. PEPPER SNAPPLE BOTTLING GROUP, 950 Stelzer Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43219 to be the exclusive provider of the carbonated and non-carbonated drinks for the purpose of resale, in accordance with proposal, attached to this Ordinance as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funds have been appropriated in the 2014 Appropriations to the following accounts; Account No. 101.433.5305, Golf Course Saleable Supplies, 101.438.5305, Hunters Ridge Pool Saleable Supplies, and 101.440.5305, Gahanna Swim Pool Saleable Supplies, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, this Ordinance is declared emergency legislation and will in full force and effect upon passage by Council and the signature of approval by the Mayor.
