TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH THE FRANKLIN COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH FOR HEALTH SERVICES IN THE CITY OF GAHANNA FOR THE 2003 FISCAL YEAR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City has a continuing program with the Franklin County Board of Health for health services in the City of Gahanna; and

 

WHEREAS, that the Franklin County Board of Health is offering additional mosquito control for an additional sum of $5,000, over and above what has been in the past, figured into the total below, and the Administration feels for the safety and health of our community it would be wise to proceed; and

 

WHEREAS, a contract has been requested effective January 1, 2003, and it is prudent, therefore, for the continuing effectiveness of these health services to authorize this contract immediately, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Franklin County Board of Health for health services in the City of Gahanna for the 2001 fiscal year, said agreement attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That an amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifty Nine Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Nine Dollars ($159,329) is to be set aside in the 2003 Appropriations to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That waiver of second reading has been requested.

 

Section 4.  That for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
