TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT  WITH ADVANCED FOUNDATION SOLUTIONS, LLC, FOR BRENTWOOD FOUNDATION DRAIN REMEDIATION; IMPROVEMENT NO. 768; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, as a continuation of the Royal Manor foundation drain project, 78 residences in Brentwood are in need of remediation; and

 

WHEREAS, bids were opened on March 9, 2001, pursuant to Council authorization, and the best, responsible, and responsive bidder has been recommended by the City Engineer; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable to proceed with this contract at the earliest possible date due to the current construction season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Director of Public Service is authorized to award and the Mayor authorized to enter into contract with ADVANCED FOUNDATION SOLUTIONS, LLC, 178 Cherry Street, Sunbury, Ohio 43074, for Brentwood Foundation Drain Remediation, Improvement No. 768, in accordance with bid and city specifications; bid tab attached as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That to cover the herein costs, funding in the amount of THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($300,000) was set aside to Account No, 661.360.5533, Sewer, Capital  Projects, in the 2001 Appropriations.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and signature approval by the Mayor.
