TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH TRICAR LTD; AS THE CONSULTANT FOR TANK REMOVAL FROM SCIENCE BOULEVARD; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, Gahanna has 3 sites where fuel tanks were or are located - Science Blvd, Municipal Golf Course, and Oklahoma Avenue; and
WHEREAS, TriCar has previously served as a consultant for our Underground Storage Tank project; and
WHEREAS, in light of the ongoing liability associated with abandoned fuel tank ownership the Administration solicited proposals to aid the City in removing an abandoned tank on Science Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, proposal has been received and been recommended by the Director of Public Service; and
WEHREAS it is deemed in the best interest of the City to move forward with this tank removal as quickly as possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with TriCar Ltd, 10477 Shields Road, Ostrander, Ohio 43061, to be the consultant for tank removal from Science Boulevard, said proposal attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That Seven Thousand Four Hundred Seventy Five Dollars was appropriated in the 2003 Appropriations to Account No. 101.515.5512, Garage Capital, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be deemed emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
