TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE 0.734+/- ACRES LOCATED IN JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP OFF TAYLOR ROAD FOR RIGHT OF WAY; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $50,923; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the purchase of land for right of way is necessary to provide access for the Eastgate project from Taylor Road, which is more desirable than the current access from Blatt Blvd.; and
WHEREAS, purchase of the land for right of way would then allow two access points for the Eastgate project; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this at the earliest date possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to purchase the necessary 0.734+/- acres of land off Taylor Road to provide right of way access for the Eastgate Project.
Section 2. That the amount of FIFTY THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED TWENTY THREE DOLLARS ($50,923) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.349.5821, TIF Capital, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That Ordinance No. 990001, passed January 2, 1999, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on the date of approval by the Mayor.
