TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PROPERTY/LIABILITY INSURANCE RENEWAL CONTRACT WITH THE OHIO MUNICIPAL JOINT SELF INSURANCE POOL

WHEREAS, it is time to renew our contract and it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service to stay with the Ohio Municipal Joint Self Insurance Pool for the insurance; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ohio Municipal Joint Self Insurance Pool is offering a three year renewal that could save the City almost $30,000 over the three years; and

 

WHEREAS, Council concurs with this recommendation due to the cost savings to the City;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into renewal contract with the Ohio Municipal Joint Self Insurance Pool, P.O. Box 640254, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45264-0254 to renew property/liability insurance, said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of TWO HUNDRED SIXTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY ONE DOLLARS ($216,721) was set  aside in the 2008 Appropriations in the following accounts.

 

Account Number 101.141.5282 - INSURANCE - LAND & BUILDINGS

Account Number 101.211.5282 - INSURANCE - POLICE

Account Number 101.433.5282 - INSURANCE - GOLF COURSE

Account Number 101.438.5282 - INSURANCE - POOL

Account Number 220.330.5282 - INSURANCE - STREETS

Account Number 651.350.5282 - INSURANCE - WATER

Account Number 661.360.5282 - INSURANCE - SEWER

 

Section 3.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
