SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION - OHEC Capital Projects/Improvements

WHEREAS, Council passed ORD-0177-2011 appropriating funds for repairs to the Ohio Herb Education Center; and
WHEREAS, $20,000 of that appropriation was returned to the general fund as it was unspent at the end of 2011; and
WHEREAS, discussions had been ongoing with the Ohio Historical Society to utilize funding that was given for maintenance of the property at 110 Mill Street by one of the previous owners; and
WHEREAS, the Ohio Historical Society has now verified that the proposed repairs qualify to utilize these funds and that all repairs will be done to historic structure regulations and specifications as administered by the Ohio Historical Society; and
WHEREAS, the Ohio Historical Society will reimburse the City up to $20,000 once the repairs are completed, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation recommends proceeding with the repairs as soon as possible in order to have them completed in the spring;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding in the amount of TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.439.5596, OHEC, Capital Projects/Improvements.
Section 2. That ORD-0001-2012, passed January 2, 2012, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
