SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION - Columbus Metropolitan Library Operations Center/General Fund

WHEREAS, in 2001 the City had plans to widen West Johnstown Road from Sandra Court to Olde Ridenour Road and the Library paid the City a $30,000 contribution to cover the addition of a left turn lane into their facility from eastbound traffic; and
WHEREAS, since 2001 numerous projects became more urgent than the widening and West Johnstown Road has not been widened and the need for the turn lane has not developed; and
WHEREAS, the Library contacted the City about their contribution and the City explained that the widening of West Johnstown Road is still on the long range projects list, but it is very low on the list and will probably not be built in the near future; and
WHEREAS, the Library subsequently has asked that their $30,000 be refunded;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding in the amount of THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($30,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.135.5815 to cover the herein cost, as the original contribution was deposited into the General Fund.
Section 2. That ORD-0001-2014, passed January 2, 2014, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
