TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH GPD GROUP FOR DESIGN AND ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE 2027 STREET REBUILD AND WATERLINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT (TR-CM-02), AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BODY

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna is undertaking the 2027 Street Rebuild and Waterline Replacement Project (TR-CM-02) on Penny Lane and Penny Court north of the Codet intersection; and

WHEREAS, the project will include design services for roadway improvements, waterline replacement, maintenance of traffic, right-of-way assessment, stormwater regulatory coordination, utility coordination, ADA curb ramp improvements, engineering estimates, construction scheduling, construction and bid documents, and engineering assistance during construction; and

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department solicited proposals for design services from the City’s prequalified vendor list, received and evaluated two proposals, and selected GPD Group as the preferred consultant to perform the required design and engineering services; and

WHEREAS, the proposed contract amount is Two Hundred Twenty-Three Thousand One Hundred Ninety Dollars and Ten Cents ($223,190.10), with an additional Twenty-Four Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety-Eight Dollars and Ninety Cents ($24,798.90) authorized as contingency, for a total amount not to exceed Two Hundred Forty-Seven Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-Nine Dollars ($247,989.00); and

WHEREAS, funding for the project was previously appropriated and approved by Council as part of the 2026 Capital Budget and is available within Account No. 32506550-5505, and no supplemental appropriation is required; and

WHEREAS, the Administration has determined that it is necessary and in the best interest of the City to enter into a contract with GPD Group for the design and engineering services necessary to advance the project; and
