TO ESTABLISH COMPENSATION FOR CITIZEN MEMBER OF THE CITY RECORDS COMMISSION

WHEREAS, the City Records Commission was established by Ordinance No. 72-89, passed October 3, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the City Records Commission establishes rules, regulations and procedures for the retention and disposal of all City records and archives in compliance with the Charter of the City and laws of the State of Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 175-89, passed December 22, 1989 established compensation at the rate of $25.00 per meeting for the citizen member of the City Records Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Records Commission, at the October meeting, recommended an increase for the citizen member of the Commission; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate to provide an increase for the citizen member to be effective for calendar year 2004;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That effective for calendar year 2004, the citizen member of the City Records Commission appointed by City Council shall receive compensation in the amount of FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) per meeting.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
