WHEREAS, the current LiveScan terminal purchased in 2006 is no longer supported and as such the maintenance costs are very cost prohibitive; and
WHEREAS, additional funding is needed in the Law Enforcement Trust Fund Account to pay for a new 3M Cogent C5500p Live-Scan Criminal Booking Station from 3M Cogent Systems, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, this supplemental appropriation covers the cost of the equipment and 3 years of maintenance; and
WHEREAS, this equipment is to be purchased off the state term contract STS-033, Schedule 533083-1 at a savings of $4,612 which is valid until December 24, 2013;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding in the amount of THIRTY-THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($33,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Law Enforcement Trust Fund (LETF) to Account No. 225.211.5512, Law Enforcement Trust Fund Capital Equipment.
Section 2. That ORD-0001-2013, passed January 2, 2013 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 3. That waiver of second reading is requested.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
