WHEREAS, letter proposal has been received for the inspection services for the Taylor Road at Eastgate Project, Imp. No. 778; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended that we proceed to award said inspection services contract; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this due to the  construction season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for inspection services for the Taylor Road at Eastgate Project, Imp. No. 778, in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($40,000) is hereby appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to the following accounts:

 

$16,000 to Account No. 101.145.5541, Capital Projects Streets;

$24,000 to Account No. 101.349.5821, Capital Projects TIF.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2002, passed January 2, 2002, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That waiver of second reading is requested. 

 

Section 5.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
