TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH BUCKEYE CEMENT CONTRACTORS FOR UPGRADES TO THE SERVICE COMPLEX, 152 OKLAHOMA AVENUE, INCLUDING CONCRETE WORK; TO REQUEST WAIVER OF SECOND READING; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, upgrades are needed at the Service Complex at 152 Oklahoma Ave., including concrete work; and
WHEREAS, the concrete work needs to be professionally done; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this work, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with BUCKEYE CEMENT CONTRACTORS, 4969 Big Run South Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123, for concrete work to be done at the 152 Oklahoma Ave. service complex, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY THREE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FORTY FIVE DOLLARS ($23,845) was set aside in the 2003 Appropriations to Account No. 220.330.5541, Street Capital Improvements, to cover the herein cost.
Section 3. That waiver of second reading has been requested.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
