TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH MORTON SALT DIVISION FOR ROCK SALT FOR THE 1998-99 SEASON.

WHEREAS, bids were opened on September 11, 1998, pursuant to Council authorization, and the best, responsible, and responsive bidder has been recommended by the Director of Public Service; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to proceed with this purchase at the earliest possible date;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is authorized to award and the Mayor authorized to enter into contract for rock salt for the 1998-99 Season with MORTON SALT DIVISION, 100 North Riverside Plaza, Chicago, Illinois 60606, in accordance with bid and City specifications.
Section 2. That funding was set aside in the 1998 Appropriations to Account No. 220.330.5321, Street Material, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
