TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH CDW-G FOR PURCHASE OF A LARGE FORMAT PRINTER/SCANNER OFF THE STATE BID LIST FOR THE GIS MANAGER; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the GIS Manager was to evaluate the needs of the City with regard to hardware for the GIS program; and
WHEREAS, funds were appropriated to cover these purchases after determination of the need was made; and
WHEREAS, the GIS Manager has recommended the purchase of a large format printer/scanner which will be able to be used by several departments; and
WHEREAS, this printer/scanner is available on the State bid list, State contract No. GS-35F-0195J; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this purchase to allow the GIS Manager to begin the orderly conversion of files to a GIS format and be able to scan and print these documents, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Purchase Agreement with CDW-G, 315 W. Grand Avenue, Chicago, IL 60610, for purchase of a large format printer/scanner for the GIS Manager, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of EIGHTEEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($18,100) was set aside in the 2002 Appropriations to Account No. 101.348.5511, Network Capital GIS, to cover the herein cost.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
