TO HONOR AND COMMEND SYNTAXIS YOUTH HOMES ON THEIR 25TH ANNIVERSARY

WHEREAS, The Syntaxis Youth Homes are celebrating their 25th Anniversary of providing independent living preparation services to teenagers in the custody of the State of Ohio and its counties; and
WHEREAS, Syntaxis was incorporated on September 10, 1973, as a departure from traditional institutions; and
WHEREAS, Syntaxis founders were Father Alen Sprenger, a Columbus priest, and Joseph Friend, a former juvenile probation officer;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That The Syntaxis Youth Homes are honored on the occasion of their 25th Anniversary celebration and are commended for the services rendered in the communities of Columbus, Whitehall, Gahanna, and New Albany.
Section 2. That Syntaxis is recognized for the outstanding display of five areas from Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve and this Council and Administration, on behalf of the citizens of the community, offer our sincere thanks for this outstanding event of lights during the Holiday Season.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
