TO AMEND ORD-0017-2005, SALARIES AND BENEFITS FOR UNCLASSIFIED PERSONNEL, AS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED; TO ADD THE NEWLY-CREATED POSITION OF OFFICE MANAGER TO THE DIVISION OF POLICE; TO WAIVE SECOND READING THEREOF; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, ORD-0017-2005, passed April 18, 2005, established salaries and benefits for the unclassified personnel of the City of Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, due to the creation of the position of Office Manager for the Division of Police, it is necessary to amend said ordinance to provide the salary for this newly created position; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the administration to fill the position in a time frame that allows for training by the retiring employee, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Article II, Pay Ranges, of ORD-0017-2005, passed April 18, 2005, is hereby amended as shown in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That second reading is hereby waived.
Section 3. That for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
