TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH CLYDE E WILLIAMS & ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE CLARK STREET, OKLAHOMA AVENUE REBUILD, IMPROVEMENT NO. 671; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $8,000; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, bids were opened on May 5, 2000, pursuant to Council authorization, and Council is proceeding with the awarding of this contract; and
WHEREAS, inspection services are needed in conjunction with the awarding of the contract; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to proceed with this contract at the earliest possible date due to the pending construction season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with CLYDE E. WILLIAMS & ASSOCIATES, INC., 130 E. Wilson Bridge Road, Worthington, OH 43085, for inspection services for the Clark and Oklahoma Rebuild, Improvement No. 671, in accordance with bid and City specifications.
Section 2. That EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS ($8,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the Water Fund to Account No. 651.350.5512, Capital Projects, Water.
Section 3. That FORTY SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($46,000) was appropriated in the 2000 Appropriations to Account No. 101.145.5541, Capital Projects, Streets.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
