TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATION AMENDMENTS FOR FY 2024 AND WAIVING SECOND READING - Reducing Appropriations for Public Safety Fund (CAD Administrator) and Increasing Appropriations for General Fund (IT Support Specialist II)
BODY
WHEREAS, the administration periodically evaluates vacant positions to determine the best alternative solutions for the delivery of services to City residents; and
WHEREAS, upon review, the administration recommends updates to appropriations to address the Information Technology Department staffing needs by adding an IT Support Specialist II instead of a CAD Administrator; and
WHEREAS, this change will provide greater support for ever-changing technology demands and needs related to growing staff and associated hardware and software management that comes with both; and
WHEREAS, the specific appropriation amendments requested to address this update to staffing include a reduction in appropriations in the amount of $86,720 to the Public Safety Fund (2400) and increase in appropriations in the amount of $41,692 from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the General Fund (1010).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding previously appropriated in the amount of eighty-six thousand seven hundred twenty dollars ($86,720) is hereby reduced in the Public Safety Fund (2400) as follows:
240.10.120.5105 - Public Safety Full Time Wages: ($58,971)
240.10.120.5130 - Public Safety OPERS: ($8,214)
240.10.120.5135 - Public Safety Insurance ($17,486)
240.10.120.5140 - Public Safety Workers Comp: ($1,174)
240.10.120.5145 - Public Safety Medicare: ($851)
240.10.120.5160 - Public Safety Other Benefits: ($24)
Section 2. That funding in the amount of forty-one thousand six hundred ninety two dollars ($41,692) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the General Fund (1010) as follows:
