TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH STILSON CONSULTING GROUP FOR DESIGN OF HERMITAGE ROAD RECONSTRUCTION; IMPROVEMENT #833; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, it has been requested of the City Engineer that plans be sought for the design for the Hermitage Road Reconstruction; and
WHEREAS, letter proposal for design engineering services, dated January 15, 2003, has been received and has been recommended by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to move forward with this project in a timely fashion all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Stilson Consulting Group, 7610 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235, for design engineering services for Hermitage Road Reconstruction, said services to be in accordance with proposal letter, dated January 15, 2003, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FOURTEEN THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($14,200.00) has been set aside to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That for reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
