TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH GCC ENGINEERS TO INCLUDE SANITARY SEWER PLANS FOR OGDEN ALLEY; IMPROVEMENT NO. 774; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $9,305; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City entered into Contract with GCC Engineers for design services on Ogden Alley; Improvement No. 774, by ORD-0167-2001; and
WHEREAS, an extension of this contract has been requested for preparation of sanitary sewer plans; and
WHEREAS, money was appropriated in the 2001 Appropriations, but the project did not move forward in a timely manner, and was not spent and is being returned to the General Fund; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable and prudent to effect this contract at the earliest possible date all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amended contract with GCC Engineers, 104 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for sanitary sewer plans for Ogden Alley, Improvement No. 774.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of NINE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED FIVE DOLLARS ($9,305) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Sanitary Sewer Fund to Account No. 661.360.5445, Capital Projects Engineer, Sewer, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2002, passed January 2, 2002, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
