WHEREAS, Creative Housing, Inc., a non-profit organization, has announced Welcome Home Day to announce the opening of the Apartments at Stoneridge in Gahanna, Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Welcome Home Day will establish an awareness of appropriate living for individuals with disabilities and celebrate Creative Housing's accomplishment of providing safe, accessible, and affordable housing to people with disabilities in over 400 locations throughout Franklin County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna strives to improve the quality of life of all citizens; and
WHEREAS, this Council and administration along with Creative Housing, Inc. invites all citizens of Gahanna to observe October 30, 2008 as WELCOME HOME DAY; and
WHEREAS, the Apartments at Stoneridge will act as a model for inclusivity for all peoples every day;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Gahanna City Council hereby dedicates and declares October 30th, 2008 as WELCOME HOME DAY in celebration of the grand opening of the Apartments at Stoneridge in our great City of Gahanna.
Section 2. That this Council and the administration invites all citizens to observe this day, which honors the right we all share to live well and independently with pride.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council.
